What Am I Trying to Say?
I learned how to reach inside of myself and discover a place of deep peace and beauty. I am making these movies because it is a joy to express this personal discovery to people who are sincerely interested. I practice feeling this point of peace and I learn to know myself deeper and deeper. In a way, this is a small adjustment -- I've always considered myself a deep sort of guy -- but my priorities are completely shifting. My concern now is the basic gifts that we all have. This is too profound to ignore and too important to keep a secret. I am discovering that my most essential possession is life itself. Pretty simple, eh? Yes, very simple, and I seek to be simple enough to truly embrace it. I am certainly not the first person to make this discovery, but that doesn't make it any smaller. I believe many people also love this perspective, but it is difficult to talk about. I find these poetic visual metaphors work well, and animation is a great medium. By profession I am a 3D digital modeler with SketchUp software (look at www.JoelM3DM.com), so I am making short cartoons with 3D animation. I am not trying to be a great filmmaker and my voice isn't very clear (from an injury -- read The Thread of Life) -- but there is something I want to say: Something special is close at hand. Every day I visit the beauty of feeling life inside of me. More and more, I'm connected to this inner feeling. It's like knowing I have riches in the bank. I have lots of help from my teacher, who reminds me of the importance of this simplicity inside. If you wish to learn about him, visit Words of Peace The feeling of their own beauty is everyone's birthright, whatever their path or practice. Though lots of different words are used, many people seek the same feeling of inner beauty -- yet it is very much missing in our world. On a personal level, I think it's an important ingredient for satisfaction. On a global level, I believe it can help as we solve problems. This experience is possible and this learning is available. I remember well when I first heard about this understanding. "There's something valuable inside of me? I don't need to read or diet? It is already right inside of me now?" I was interested, but I did not want to listen to a teacher or expert. I just wanted to hear someone like me. I wanted to ask: What are you getting out of this? Do you feel like that? I am not a big expert or official spokesman. I am just a guy who's learning to embrace this perspective. I believe many people would also love it. You're welcome to write to me if you have questions about my movies or my message or you just want to say hello ...
